I can still win: Tiger Woods challenges ahead of The Open at Royal Troon

Tiger Woods has no intention of retiring from the sport and said he will continue to play as long as he believes he can win.
Colin Montgomery, winner of 31 European Tour events, told The Times last week that Woods, 48, appeared to miss a shot during last month’s U.S. Open at Pinehurst. Woods missed the cut by two strokes.
The 15-time major winner said he remains confident he can win. “I play for a very long time, but I can play, but I think I can always win the event,” said Woods before discovering on Tuesday.
“Well, like the last champion, I was released until the age of 60. Colleen is different. He is not a former champion, so he is not exempt from responsibility. Therefore, he cannot make this decision. I do so, “said Woods. I responded to Montgomery’s comments. Montgomerie later responded to Woods’ comments on social media site X:
“If any golf editors want to know my opinion on Tiger, they should ask me directly instead of quoting interview quotes out of context. “We wish Tiger a fun week and much success,” Montgomerie wrote.
Woods will be returning to Kings Troon for the first time in 20 years after playing a limited schedule for many years due to multiple injuries. He opened in 2000, 2005 and 2006.
“I always liked playing here. I played only twice here. I played in 97 and 2004. I loved both of them. I had the opportunity to play with Tom Weiscount in his last training round, ”Woods said. “It was good that he took me through some of his holes and the way he plays. I gave him a stick of course and he gave me a stick, as always.
