   George Russell, president of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association, previously praised Nielsen’s efforts to provide drivers with information on important sporting issues. Nelson joins the FIA ​​from Formula One Management (FOM), having held key positions at Benetton, Renault, Toro Rosso, Lotus Renault, Honda and Williams.

   When FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem reviewed the management team and internal processes, a new structure was introduced with Nielsen’s report to sole director Nikolas Tombazis. The FIA ​​did not respond to a request for comment.
