Age has a major role in the free-agent market: A player’s age is typically a determining factor in how long a team signs him for. A year is countable. There’s a big difference every year. On the other end of the age spectrum, however, are players who are too old to search for a long-term deal but who yet have a lot to give as they approach or beyond their mid-30s.
