Boston Red Sox Interviewing Former Dodgers Farm Director For Leading Role

it seems that former Dodgers farm system director, Gabe Kapler still wants a piece of action. He was recently interviewed to be the head of baseball operations with the Boston Red Sox.

This role may serve Kapler a little better than manager, as he only had one winning season during his tenure with the Giants and Philadelphia Phillies. He had two .500 seasons but only saw postseason action once. The Giants ended up losing in the NLDS to the Dodgers in a classic five-game series. Kapler was one of the hottest names on the market when he signed with the Giants to be their manager, but things never worked out. He could never find a way to recreate the magic of the 2021 season in San Francisco and it came back to hurt him. He is a smart baseball mind and could help a team like Boston next season if given the role. Multiple people have declined the opportunity to interview with the Red Sox, so this could be a good chance for them to get someone with experience into the mix. Kapler knows the ins and outs of the game, and the Red Sox have a big need in how they conduct business. His experience working as the farm director for LA and being a manager has allowed him to see things at different levels, which could end up helping him in a leading role. Maybe he could be the missing piece for this Boston team that has missed the playoffs in four of the last five years. It remains to be seen if Kapler will get the job, but we could be seeing him back in a leadership role again next season if he does
