Would Mike Norvell ever consider coaching in the NFL if that opportunity emerged?
Florida State coach Mike Norvell, in his interview with the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast, was asked about his appetite for coaching in the NFL one day.
Norvell, who was named the national coach of the year by the American Heart Association and the Dodd Trophy, didn’t rule out the possibility although he added that he couldn’t “see doing anything else” as he thoroughly enjoys the developmental aspect of coaching.
“You never know, never say never,” Norvell said. “But I do love the opportunity I get to impact 18-22 year olds in this time of their life to help build and facilitate habits to help them be successful at the next level. I love the relationship aspect of it, the first time guys have to leave home and not see their parents every day or their loved ones, their guardian, whoever that might me. Helping build them in that moment is critical. I get so much enjoyment out of that, you get to be a true difference maker for them.
To say I’d never have any aspirations, I’m not going to say that would never be the case. But right now, I absolutely love getting to do what I do and I can’t see doing anything else.”
Norvell is currently one of the highest paid coaches in college football after signing a contract extension to make $10 million annually.
