Tiger Woods announced the addition of three PGA Tour players to his TGL team, Jupiter Links Golf Club, which will debut in 2025.
The secret is out: Tiger Woods has unveiled his roster for his TGL squad, and the start-up league’s six teams are nearing completion as it prepares for its inaugural 2025 season.
Woods tweeted a video on Monday announcing Max Homa, Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner as the three other members of Jupiter Links Golf Club, one of the six four-person teams competing in the tech-infused indoor golf league backed by Woods and Rory McIlroy.
In November, we had learned Woods’ TGR Ventures had partnered with David Blitzer as owners of Jupiter Links Golf Club, but the roster wasn’t released until Monday. Blitzer is the co-founder of Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment and an owner or partner of multiple pro sports teams.
“I have already shared my excitement and optimism for TGL as a league and product,” Woods said in a release. “Now that we have finalized our roster with a team of world-class golfers, I am even more confident that this group will proudly represent the Jupiter area and connect with our fans for years to come.”
As for Woods’ roster, whether intentional or not, there seems to be a theme regarding the three players selected to join Jupiter Links — and it’s not the fact that none of them actually reside in the Jupiter, Fla., area, as Woods does. It’s that they should be good on TV. Or at least have the potential to be more captivating than some other TGL players. That’s why:
—Homa is one of the most active sports fans on social media, and his fans love him and make him laugh sometimes. He’s been in good form the past two years, winning five times through 2021. He tied at the Masters.
—The 21-year-old has won three times. He won the PGA Tour and won the hearts of fans at the 2022 Presidents Cup, helping him develop a cult following. The innocence and fearsome side of the young star was revealed again in the new season of ‘Full Swing’. Yuna Kim entered the Champions locker room at Augusta National and walked around the building carrying a cooler and speakers. And who can forget when Yuna Kim jumped into the dirt for her tee shot at the 2023 PGA Championship, twirling and changing clothes? .
—Finally, we have Kisner, who has four wins on the PGA Tour but hasn’t been tight-lipped about his struggles over the past year. He missed his first six cuts of the season and finished 68-of-69 at the RBC Heritage last week.
But Kisner, 40, is still working as a supervisor at NBC Gym, and the sign is good. She has the witty, funny and edgy personality that entertains TGL viewers on TV and in the studio, and Homa and Kim are up to the task.
This time, the action just sees her. The first season of the league was postponed until 2025 after a storm caused the roof of the new TGL stadium to collapse in November. The first episode will air on ESPN on January 7, 2025 from the 250,000 square foot SoFi Center. Valley Stadium is located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida..
