Tiger-hosted Genesis Invitational switches venues after LA wildfires
Tiger Woods-hosted Genesis Invitational will be relocated to Torrey Pines following the Los Angeles wildfires.
Torrey Pines to host PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational in February with event switched from Riviera County Club due to Los Angeles wildfires; venue in Pacific Palisades of Southern California which has been decimated by the disaster; Torrey Pines also hosts Farmers Insurance Open
Tiger Woods-hosted Genesis Invitational will be relocated to Torrey Pines following the Los Angeles wildfires.
The Riviera County Club was due to stage the PGA Tour signature event between February 13-16 but that course is in the Pacific Palisades area of Southern California which has been decimated.
With the disaster ongoing and out of respect for those affected, the tournament will switch to San Diego before an expected return to Riviera in 2026.
Torrey Pines is already a regular venue on the PGA Tour, hosting the Farmers Insurance Open, while it also staged the US Open in 2008 and 2021, won by Woods and Jon Rahm respectively.
Woods said: “We are grateful to the city of San Diego and Torrey Pines for hosting the 2025 Genesis Invitational, and to everyone who has reached out in support of the tournament.
“While Riviera remains the home of The Genesis Invitational, we look forward to playing on another championship-calibre golf course this year and using the tournament to support those affected by the fires in the Los Angeles area.”
