The main advantage, according to Norris, is that the McLaren F1 dominates the competition McLaren is currently chasing Aston Martin in fourth place in the standings and has revealed one of the key factors helping it.
Lando Norris has broken down one of the key factors McLaren has over some of its rivals as it allows Aston Martin to finish fourth in the Constructors’ Championship. McLaren has enjoyed strong form in recent races amid successful development of the MCL60 car, which has started the season on the back foot. Most recently, McLaren claimed the first double of the year at the Japanese GP when Norris and teammate Oscar Piastri finished second and third respectively.
Because the decline of Aston Martin in recent events has reduced the gap to 49 points. Also, Fernando Alonso has scored points for Aston Martin in recent races and Lance Stroll has not scored since Belgium. Norris believed that McLaren’s ability to consistently score points with both drivers would help them climb higher in the standings.
Norris is “proud” of McLaren. Asked by media outlets such as RacingNews365 if McLaren could overtake Aston Martin before the end of the year, Norris said: “Yes. “I didn’t think it was that close. But yeah, if it’s 49 [points], I definitely believe it. Not many races left.
I’m sure there will be a couple where Aston is a bit stronger. “But I think our advantage over almost every team, except for a couple, is that we have two drivers fighting for those places and those points. “Not every team has that right now, So I think that helps us.
“We can help each other, we can take advantage of each other, and I think that’s a good advantage that we have over a lot of other teams right now. So we’re elevated.” McLaren introduced two major updates this year, helping it to touch down at the bottom of the grid after starting the campaign.
Norris will be looking to bounce back from a difficult start and showed his pride for the team in Woking. – We are making good progress and days like today show exactly that, he said. “Although I know that sometimes there are more difficult races that may not be as easy as [in Japan].
“The progress we’ve made this season has been pretty incredible in my eyes and where we’ve been, 18 seconds off the lead or 19 seconds, is proof of that. “So I’m proud of everyone and we’ll keep pushing.
