The alleged affair between politician Sarah Palin and NBA champ Glen Rice: “I remember Sarah feeling pretty good that she’d been with a black basketball star”
You never know where ‘love’ takes you. Sarah Palin, a well-established figure in the Republican Party, is typically associated with her conservative values. However, in 2011, an unexpected spotlight fell upon her when the scandalous biography ‘The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin’ was released. The book revealed adventures with drugs, a failed marriage, and allegations of cheating and sex affairs.
Now, here’s where things get really juicy for all basketball fans who love a good dose of gossip. According to rumors in the book, Palin supposedly had a fling with no other than Glen Rice, an NBA champion and three-time All-Star.
“I remember Sarah feeling pretty good that she’d been with a black basketball star,” a source close to Palin was then quoted.
The unconfirmed affair
The unconfirmed story takes us back to the year 1987. Palin, a registered Republican since 1982, had just recently graduated from college. During that time, Rice was a talented 6-foot-8 junior for the University of Michigan, where he set numerous records and had his number 44 jersey retired in 2005.
Adding more spice to the mix, this alleged affair supposedly occurred just nine months before Palin eloped with her husband, with whom she would later start a family.
As for Rice, the small forward had a remarkable career in the NBA following his selection as the fourth overall pick in the 1989 Draft by the Heat. He stayed in Miami for six seasons before winning a ring with the Lakers in 2000.
