Simone Biles & Others’ Inspired 5-Year-Old Gymnastics Star Won the Internet’s Hearts: “Future Olympian”

The newest gymnastics sensation has fans collectively aww as loud as they can! Who is it, you ask? Meet Nova Leanna Davidson. The 5-year-old tot is a Level 3 gymnast and the biggest (albeit tiny) fan of the GOAT herself, Simone Biles. So much so, that every gymnast Nova sees is Simone. It’s not surprising that just like her idol, she has found love in the sport. Nova Davidson has been cheering her favourite throughout the U.S. Gymnastics Trials.

The youngin’ and her mother Tiffany, made it to Target Center to watch Biles’ stellar performance. She was over the moon when she witnessed the 7-time Olympic medalist clinch a victory, successfully punching her ticket to Paris. The celebrations continued when the young gymnast got home too. Inside Gymnastics Magazine shared a heartwarming video of the tiny tot showcasing her skills on the laser balance beam to their Instagram, and it is the most adorable thing you will see today!

Simone Biles has been dominating the floor since she made her Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Olympics. It’s no surprise that many little girls want to follow the same path as the most decorated female gymnast. One of them is the tiny gymnast Nova Davidson. She has been honing her skills for the past year at the local gym. Inside Gymnastics Magazine shared a snippet of her routine.

During her trip to Minneapolis, Davidson also had the chance to meet Jordan Chiles. During a fun question and answer session, Nova raised her hand to ask a very important question. The tiny tot (and budding journalist by the looks of it) was curious about the amount of leotards Chiles owns. Jordan let her know it was a great question and honestly confessed that she had too many to count, but she continued saying she probably had over a hundred. The 5-year-old seemed to be very pleased with that answer.

Nova even met the GOAT last year at the Simone Biles Invitational. The young gymnast was excited before the meetup, but also incredibly nervous according to her mother. As she timidly made her way to the front clutching the book her father wrote for her, Biles put her to ease by greeting her with excitement. The then 3-year-old was so starstruck by her idol, she forgot her name. Her mother reminded Biles that the child who had once asked “Does Simone Biles Fart?” is standing right in front of her!

Nova’s father, Tj Davidson, is an entrepreneur who found the sweetest way to support his daughter’s dreams! In 2022, he authored a book called “The Little Gymnast: The Story of a Dedicated Gymnast” for Nova. The book follows a little girl named Nova who loves tumbling on the gymnastics mat. After several challenges and setbacks, she becomes a competition champion. Much like she did 2 years later on 6th January. The five-year-old scored 37 points and secured first place at her first meet!

The gymnastics community is overjoyed by Nova’s routine

After being enthralled by the Paris-bound team at the U.S. Gymnastics Trials, fans were treated to yet another stellar performance by the young gymnast. Many headed over to Inside Gym’s post to voice their affirmations for the 5-year-old. One fan stated, “Future olympian in the making, she’s amazing!!” Nova might have just started, but her impressive control has many going ga ga!

Another fan expressed, “Wow! She’s amazing at such a young age !!!” The 5-year-old’s dedication and love for the sport shone through the video. “Amazing future. Olympics 2032,” One fan declared. Who knows? We might just end up seeing the young gymnast make her debut at the Olympic Trials at some point!

A fan excitedly confessed, “Just think, she’s this good at 5. She’s going to be incredible!” Nova is calm, and collected, and knows she’s good! Many are excited to see how she fares as she gets older. Another fan hyped her up, “We love @missnovagirl she’s a superstar in the making… shout out to her parents for being such an inspiration and sharing her journey.”

Nova’s parents have been incredibly supportive throughout her journey. Tiffany even makes an appearance in the video momentarily!

In 20 days, fans will get to watch Simone Biles compete at her third Olympic run. And we can’t help but wonder how loud Nova Davidson’s cheers for her idol will be. Shaking off the dreaded “twisties” from 2016, Biles will be looking to add a few more gold medals to her ever-growing collection. Are you looking forward to Nova cheering Team USA on?
