Report 🙄:Rory McIlroy sets record straight after wild LIV Golf rumours circled Augusta during Masters
Rory McIlroy has committed his future to the PGA Tour by shutting down rumours over a switch to LIV Golf.
The Saudi-baked breakaway league has attracted some of golf’s top stars with eye-watering contracts.
Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson are just some of the notable names who completed moves to the new movement.
A report from City A.M. claimed that a deal for McIlroy to join LIV Golf was close, with an offer standing at $850million (£682m).
There were similar rumours circling among media members at Augusta National while the Northern Irishman finished T22 at the Masters.

But when asked about the rumours by NBC reporter Todd Lewis, McIlroy said: “I honestly don’t know how these things get started
I’ve never been offered a number from LIV and I’ve never contemplated going to LIV. Again, I think I’ve made it clear over the past two years that I don’t think it’s something for me.
“It doesn’t mean that I judge people that have gone and played over there. I think one of the things that I realised over the past two years is people can make their own decisions for whatever they think is best for themselves and who are we to judge them for that?
“But personally for me, my future is here on the PGA Tour and it’s never been any different.”
