Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson are just some of the notable names who completed moves to the new movement.
A report from City A.M. claimed that a deal for McIlroy to join LIV Golf was close, with an offer standing at $850million (ÂŁ682m).
There were similar rumours circling among media members at Augusta National while the Northern Irishman finished T22 at the Masters.

But when asked about the rumours by NBC reporter Todd Lewis, McIlroy said: âI honestly donât know how these things get started
Iâve never been offered a number from LIV and Iâve never contemplated going to LIV. Again, I think Iâve made it clear over the past two years that I donât think itâs something for me.
âIt doesnât mean that I judge people that have gone and played over there. I think one of the things that I realised over the past two years is people can make their own decisions for whatever they think is best for themselves and who are we to judge them for that?
âBut personally for me, my future is here on the PGA Tour and itâs never been any different.â
