Red Bulls Academy Name London Woodberry U14 Head Coach
HARRISON, N.J. (September 8, 2023) – Red Bulls Academy have named London Woodberry as the U14 Head Coach, the club announced today.
Woodberry comes to the Red Bulls from Austin FC Academy, where he served as a U15 Coach/Mentor. In Austin, Woodbury was part of the coaching staff for the U15 side that won the 2023 GA Cup and advanced to the round of 16 in this year’s MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs. Prior to Austin, he began his coaching career at FC Westlake Academy.
“Coaching the U14 age group offers a distinct chance to mold the paths of young players, build a strong foundation, and actively participate in their growth as both footballers and individuals,” said Woodberry on the prospect of coaching the next wave of players in the Red Bulls Academy.
Woodberry also has experience as a player in an MLS academy. Born in McKinney, Texas, he spent time in the FC Dallas Academy on their U18 team. Following his academy days, Woodberry played collegiate soccer at the University of Maryland, where he picked up several accolades. A two-time second team all-ACC member, and a third team All-American in 2012, Woodberry was a key force on multiple elite defenses.
The Texas native will bring a multitude of professional experience to the Red Bulls organization. As a defender, he appeared in 46 matches over three seasons for the New England Revolution from 2015-2017. He started his MLS career with FC Dallas as a homegrown in 2013. In addition to the MLS, Woodberry also spent time in the USL, playing for Arizona United, Nashville SC, and most recently, Austin Bold FC in 2019.
