Pete Wilk Resigns as Head Baseball Coach

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University Francis X. Rienzo Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Lee Reed announced on Wednesday that Head Baseball Coach Pete Wilk has decided to step away from his position.  Wilk had been at the helm of the Hoya baseball program for the past 20 years.

During his tenure as head coach, Wilk won more than 400 games making him the winningest coach in program history.  In 2019, the Hoyas had a record five players named All-BIG EAST while also setting a program record with four players selected in the 2019 MLB Draft.  Academically, the Hoyas have performed admirably in the classroom having earned Top Ten APR (Academic Progress Rate) Public Recognition Awards by the NCAA on eight occasions during Wilk’s time at Georgetown.

A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately. Georgetown thanks Coach Wilk for his contributions to the Hoya baseball program and wishes him well.
