On June 6, 1984 the Boston Celtics beat the Los Angeles Lakers 129-125 in overtime to tie the NBA Finals at 2 games each. Larry Bird led the Celtics with 29 points and 21 rebounds while Magic Johnson finished with 20 points, 17 assists and 11 rebounds for the Lakers. The most memorable play of the game occurred in the 3rd quarter when Boston’s Kevin McHale clotheslined the Lakers’ Kurt Rambis. A bit later, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bird would get into a heated exchange after battling for a rebound.🏀
