Richard Sherman ripped the SEC and Alabama over the Florida State snub
Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban told his players during the team’s awards banquet on Sunday night that he received hundreds of calls from angry Florida State Seminoles (FSU) fans, according to Tide Illustrated.
The Alabama-based news outlet on Rivals.com reportedly obtained a video of Saban’s speech to his players, though they have yet to publish it online. Michigan, Washington, and Texas joined the Crimson Tide in the playoffs, leaving the undefeated FSU out of contention
I’ve had probably over 250 anonymous callers today, calling me every name in the book, talking about how we shouldn’t be in the playoff,” Saban said. “So we still have naysayers out there. We still have players who don’t believe in us.
“Most of these people are from Florida. I don’t know how in the hell they got my number, but it is out there
Richard Sherman rips Alabama, SEC
Retired NFL cornerback Richard Sherman ripped the SEC and Alabama over the Florida State snub during his latest appearance on FS1’s “Undisputed.”
“I have a huge problem with it. This is a huge problem with college sports, and that’s why I don’t watch it. I think it’s B.S,” Sherman said. “College used to be about the underdog story, about pageantry, about amateurism, and ‘any team at any given time can have a chance at a national title;’ now it’s become politics. Florida State went undefeated. And the only knock against them is their starting quarterback got hurt
Alabama (12-1) will face Michigan (13-0) on January 1 at the Rose Bowl in a CFP semifinal matchup to reach the national title game.
