Megan Thee Stallion made her summer tour finale a performance to remember.
On Thursday, Aug. 1, the rap star, 29, hit the stage at Lollapalooza 2024 at Chicago’s Grant Park for a headlining set, where she was joined by a special surprise guest: Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese.
The WNBA star, 22, popped up during Megan’s set, where the latter was met with utter shock as the packed-out crowd cheered over the two sharing the stage together. “What the f—!” the “Boa” rapper screamed on her microphone after hugging Reese twice.
The basketball star’s surprise cameo smoothly segued into Megan’s “Where Them Girls At” track off her latest album, MEGAN, as she twerked along to the rapper’s song. The Grammy winner continued performing with her troupe of dancers in tow as Reese cheered her on from center stage.
After the song ended, Megan ran up to hug Reese once more and posed for a selfie video, which the Chicago Sky player posted on her Instagram Stories. “That really surprised me,” the rapper told the crowd with a grin.

The following day, Megan posted an Instagram recap video to thank fans for supporting her festival set. “This show was absolutely so amazing 😍😍😍,” she wrote in a caption. “I LOVE YOU CHICAGO HOTTIES @lollapalooza.”
Attendees enjoyed the eventful performance at Lollapalooza, where Hennessy served as the festival’s official first Cognac partner. This year, Hennessy brought the Hennessy Highline activation to the annual event as part of its Made for More campaign, providing live music by DJs, photo moments and signature cocktails like the Henny-Rita and the Hennessy Paloma for festival-goers to try.

Reese’s surprise appearance wasn’t the only moment fans witnessed during Megan’s Lollapalooza set on Thursday. The “Cobra” rapper also gave a sweet shout-out to collaborator and friend Cardi B after the latter announced her third pregnancy earlier that day. “Congratulations to Cardi B!” she yelled to festival-goers while performing their chart-topping 2020 collab “WAP.”
Lollapalooza marked Megan’s final live show for the summer after she embarked on her first-ever headlining Hot Girl Summer Tour with special guest GloRilla. Her other recent performances included the Broccoli City Festival in Washington, D.C., and Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign rally in Atlanta on Tuesday, July 30.
