Masters 2024: Bryson DeChambeau Reveals Donald Trump’s Doral Played Huge Role in His ANGC Prep..Read down for more..👇👇
The Masters is an event where every golfer would hope to come out blazing. Well, Bryson DeChambeau couldn’t have hoped for a better start to the major with an amazing first round. But, interestingly, it happens to be so that he was able to dish out such a good score on Augusta National all thanks to playing on another golf course the prior week, none other than the Trump National Doral.
DeChambeau was spotted in an interview post his first round of a scintillating 7-under 65 at the ongoing major championship. Meanwhile, he was posed with a query regarding the routine he had to follow if he were on the PGA Tour and how much it would have helped him while coming into such a major championship.
Surprisingly so, the golfer replied that playing in LIV Golf Miami the previous week helped him with the preparations. Moreover, he did so all the while highlighting the challenge the specific golf course posed. “We played Doral last week, which is a brutal test of golf,” said the 30-year-old before adding, “I feel like it was a good thing that we played there and got ready for this week because this is obviously one of the best tests in golf.”
That’s not all. Bryson DeChambeau also went ahead to express his approval of the Saudi-backed league’s schedule, which has just finished its fifth event. The golfer said, ” I feel like that sort of schedule that LIV has, has provided me good, ample time to get ready for tournaments like this.”
However, he made sure not to take a specific side, as he divulged, “It would be fine either way. I’m not going to side one way or the other. It is what it is.” But even so, DeChambeau couldn’t help but express how, contrary to popular belief in the community which stands against LIV, he has been able to work better on himself and his gameplay; “I just made good use of the time that I’ve been allocated on LIV to work on my golf swing, work on the equipment that I have, and getting to a place where I’m super comfortable going into the week.”
Meanwhile, it appears the 30-year-old wasn’t the only professional from the breakaway league who had a similar opinion. Curiously, ahead of the LIV Golf event in Miami, Phil Mickelson had also dubbed the Trump National Doral as a good prep before the Masters Tournament during a press conference.
