Los Angeles Lakers rookie Bronny James has made three NBA preseason appearances. Selected 55th overall in the 2024 NBA draft, James has scored just two points in 36 preseason minutes. Bronny’s father LeBron James is entering his 22nd NBA season and seventh with the Lakers. This father-son duo shared the floor together for the first time in a preseason contest against the Phoenix Suns on October 6.
It was reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania that LeBron and Bronny are expected to also share the floor together when the Lakers host the Minnesota Timberwolves in their October 22 regular season opener.
As the Lakers prepare for their next preseason game against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, LeBron made a request on behalf of his son.
Russell and James have been teammates since the Lakers acquired the 6-foot-3 point guard from Minnesota at the 2023 NBA trade deadline. Drafted second overall by the Lakers in 2015, this is Russell’s second stint in Los Angeles. James joined the Lakers in 2018 when Bronny was just 13 years old. After one season at USC, Bronny joins his father in Los Angeles where he will begin his NBA career. The Lakers will play three more preseason games before their regular season opener.
