Now, they may have taken Lebron James’ favorite player from this rookie class — aside from his son, obviously.
The Lakers used their No. 17 pick to get Dalton Knecht, and it didn’t take long before James’ old comments about him went viral (Via Overtime).
Not so long ago, the four-time NBA champion claimed that he tuned in to watch the Tennessee Volunteers play because of Knecht, adding that some players will naturally draw viewers and attention to the game.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that the Lakers took Knecht based solely on that, as he earned the right to hear his name called in the first round.
His path to the league was hard and unorthodox, but he was one of the most electrifying players in the nation as soon as he arrived in the SEC.
He’s an efficient three-level scorer who’s had plenty of time to learn the fundamentals of the game.
Also, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with getting some input from your veteran star in terms of decision-making.
That has always been th
e case with LeBron James.
