It still feels surreal, but LeBron James is indeed now a teammate of his son, Bronny James, with the Los Angeles Lakers. It has been months since the Lakers decided to use their 55th pick overall on Bronny at the 2024 NBA draft, but many fans still are not used to the fact that he and LeBron are finally a father-and-son combo in the greatest basketball league in the world. Well, they have to start getting accustomed to the Bronny-LeBron duo in the NBA, as it’s going to be attracting plenty of attention, especially once the 2024-25 NBA season kicks off.
On Sunday, LeBron and Bronny grabbed people’s attention when they were finally seen together on the floor as Lakers teammates for the first time against the Phoenix Suns. Before that, they had a cool moment during warmups, with the two throwing it down in back-to-back fashion.
Although Bronny has a long way to go before he can even be remotely close to the player that his dad is, it’s clear that he’s a gifted athlete just like the four-time league MVP.
James scored 19 points against the Suns while adding five rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Bronny came off the bench and had zero points and four turnovers. The former USC Trojans guard is still learning lessons in the pros, but that’s also what the preseason games are for. The Lakers will have another preseason date this coming Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks at Fiserv Forum.
