The record streak continues
Standing on the podium again at the British Grand Prix , Hamilton broke several records, including most race wins at a single track (nine) and winning seasons (16).
In a historic afternoon for British sport, it has now been revealed that the track’s single day attendance record has also been broken as 164,000 fans turned out to watch Sunday’s main event. The 2024 Grand Prix also had a record attendance of 480,000 over the weekend. The news will be welcomed by Silverstone chief executive Stuart Pringle, who was in the spotlight last month for claiming the collapse in ticket sales was partly due to Verstappen’s rise to the dominant force in the sport – at Hamilton’s expense.
Verstappen quickly dismissed the claims, while Hamilton accused organizers of raising ticket prices amid the ongoing cost of living crisis in Britain. NORTHWEST.
