The pro career began Friday as Florida State began the transition to 2024, which is just months away. As head coach Mike Norvell enters his fifth year in Tallahassee, the Seminoles are back in the weight room and on the floor preparing for what’s to come.
As the new year begins, the focus is on retaining talent in the state of Florida and adding high school classes and a transfer portal. The number of Seminoles signing with NIL team The Battle End has increased.
The week continues to close with five more players showing what they bring to the team. Wide receiver Jaand Khi Douglas, Ashlynd Barker, Kam Davis, Jaylin Lucas and Cai Bates have all been linked to The Battleand’s End.
Douglas has been with the Seminoles since 2020. Heand caught 14 passes for 243 yards in his redshirt junior campaign. Douglas is expected to compete for a big spot in the slot as one of the team’s most talented receivers.
Barker just finished his freshman year at Florida State University after joining the program out of college. He worked in a backup role at safety while also being involved with special teams. Barker recorded 11 tackles, one for loss and one sack.
Davis is the longest tenured player at FSU in the class of 2024 and will commit in December. You will have the opportunity to join the fund early in your career. Playing quarterback at Dougherty High School, Davis amassed 8,762 yards of total offense and 75 touchdowns during his prep career.
Douglas’ younger brother, Lucas, began his college career at Indiana. He became a powerful weapon on special teams and a skilled player on offense. Lucas ranks eighth in the Big Ten with 92.3 yards per game and his three punt return totals are tied for the Indiana career record.
Bates joined the Seminoles late in the recruiting cycle after initially committing to LSU. He was a two-way defender at the institute and had 26 tackles, seven interceptions and 13 passes defended while capturing 36 passes for 621 yards and four touchdowns.
Davis, Bates and Lucas joined several new additions that agreed to debut with The War and the End. This group includes TE Landen Thomas, DE Marvin Jones Jr. and CB Charles Lester III. From
