JUST IN: F1 pundit APOLOGISES in wake of Red Bull fan ‘abuse’

Formula 1’s top pundit apologized to fans of the Red Bull star in an interview at the Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​​​​​​​weekend

The annual celebrations in West Sussex were attended by a number of representatives of F1 teams, including the reigning world champions and McLaren and Aston Martin.
Red Bull also brought 2024 championship leader Max Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez to the festival to help celebrate the team’s 20th anniversary in F1.

Former Red Bull star Daniel Ricciardo – now with Visa Cash App RB – was also in attendance and it has now emerged that an interview with the Australian has drawn criticism from some fans.

After speaking to Ricciardo, Chandhok reached out to Verstappen for his thoughts on the pair joining the Revival.

Asked if he would like to drive vintage cars, the Dutchman said: “It might be fun with Daniel in the same car”, before Chandhok interjected: “Could you be teammates!” The camera then zoomed out to see Perez standing awkwardly next to the couple. Despite recently signing a new contract with Red Bull, the Mexican driver’s future with the team is uncertain due to his recent disappointing results.

   After Chandhok revealed that he received “violence” from Perez supporters who saw the edited clip of the interview, Chandhok apologized for the offense and explained the context of the questions. “I’m sorry if you felt I was disrespectful to Checo [Perez] during the Goodwood Festival of Speed,” he wrote on his Instagram story. “If you watch the full video, not just the small edit that appears to be online, you’ll see that we’re talking about the Goodwood Revival, not F1.

“The Revival is a fun event and the level. of trolling and abuse of Checo fans during the last four days, who did not understand the whole story is really shameful. “Hopefully that clears things up.
