Jayson Tatum in Disbelief After Toppling Larry Bird in Elite Celtics List
Jayson Tatum scaled a massive mountain. Playing in his 7th season for the Boston Celtics, JT broke a franchise record set by the legend Larry Bird. The 25-year-old star took on the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center and dropped 41 points to seal a comfortable 110-118 win. With that 41-pointer, Tatum registered his 128th career 30-point game for the Celtics, which also happens to be the most recorded by a Celtics player through 7 seasons.

Ever since Tatum set his foot on the Celtics franchise, the team has consistently performed well in the last few seasons. The team even went to closer to end the championship draught in 2022. The team took on the Golden State Warriors for the title clash and couldn’t cross the line. Also in the previous season, the team reached the Conference Finals and couldn’t turn it around against the red hot Miami Heat.
While the team struggled to convert their great starts into rings, Jayson Tatum, on an individual level, continued to showcase his balling prowess consistently. Since the 2020-21, he has been averaging above 26 points. And, in the current season, he has spearheaded the team to achieve the top-seed in the East.
Before the start of the current season, Tatum expressed his wish to be part of the list, which consisted of the all-time greats of the Celtics. He said, “I would love to be on the Mount Rushmore of Celtics,” reported the Bleacher Report.
