The world number one showed her class and determination on day two, making a late but ultimately unsuccessful charge at making the cut.
But in truth, the damage was done on day one at the par-3 12th hole at Lancaster Country Club when the 25-year-old made a devastating 10.
Her major performance was discussed at length in Live from the U.S. Women’s Open.
And LIV Golf critic Brandel Chamblee did not hold back.
You get it in the rough, you gotta get it out of the rough,” Chamblee said of her forgettable moment.
“She’s got so many skills. Get back in play, make the bogey and move on.”
Chamblee pointed to the fact that despite playing in nine U.S. Opens, Korda has failed to learn from her previous mistakes.
“When you look at what she’s done in US Opens, she’s gotten herself in trouble and hasn’t done a great job of getting herself out of trouble.
“She’s almost averaged three double bogeys or higher per championship.”
For her part, Korda brushed off what happened as simply a bad day at the office.
“I’m human,” she said. “I’m going to have bad days.”
Korda won’t have to wait too long to have a crack at another major.
She will tee it up at the KMPG Women’s PGA Championship from 20-23 June.
The Evian Championship takes place from 11-14 July and the AIG Women’s Open will be played from 22-25 August.
