Texas and Washington are scheduled to meet in the Sugar Bowl to play in the national championship game.
The Huskies are undefeated and Pac-12 second-ranked and Heisman Trophy runner-up Michael Penix Jr. Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns won the Big 12 title.
The winner will advance to the national title game in Houston on Jan. 8 to face Alabama or Michigan and advance to the Rose Bowl. The two teams met again in the regular season last year, with Washington defeating the Longhorns 27-20 in the Alamo Bowl. This time there will be more opportunities.
