Mardle hails revolutionary Littler
Wayne Mardle has suggested that Luke Littler will change the way darts is played.
He told Sky Sports: “I have watched, played and been involved in darts for way too long.
“Luke coming along and doing what he is doing has changed my opinion about how things should be done.
“Darts is all about patterns but he doesn’t care about patterns and goes his own way. He doesn’t care if someone says ‘don’t do that’.
“When someone is good enough to do that, you realise it is not a problem. He has opened my eyes. You don’t need to stick to convention.
“He is going to change the game by doing it. The kids and adults will learn from him. There are no negatives.”
Nathan Aspinall claims the BBC “never cared” about darts until “celebrity” Luke Littler came along.
The Asp said: “He’s not a darts player, he’s a celebrity. I’m a darts player, he’s a celebrity. That’s the difference.
“But what’s he doing, because he’s a celebrity, he’s projecting darts to a whole new level.
“I did a day of media on Tuesday at the BBC, BBC have never cared about darts. All of a sudden me and Luke Littler are in there for five hours doing media, they want us.”
