Fans fuming after multiple commentators mock teams on LIV Golf during Open Championship coverage at Royal Troon.
LIV Golf fans are up in arms during coverage of the 152nd Open Championship after commentators once again mocked the breakaway Saudi league at Royal Troon.
Ryder Cup legend and part-time commentator Sam Torrance took aim at LIV Golf when asked for his thoughts on one its players Abraham Ancer during the second round.
He was putting out on the famous Postage Stamp par-3 8th at the time.
“Are you guys discussing LIV Golf?” Torrance questioned his colleagues from the commentary box.
He then saracastically added: “I’ve no idea what you’re talking about there? Majesticks and LIV?
Abraham is there, he’s there. He went to live somewhere else.”

Both Johnson and Koepka joined LIV Golf during the circuit’s inaugural season in 2022.
Johnson is said to have signed a deal in the region of $150m, with Koepka just shy of that.
Here’s how the conversation played out:
“Dustin here is a 4 Aces kinda guy…” said Kaufman.
Johnson replied: “What, poker? Are we talking like he likes a game of poker?”
Kaufman said: “Brooks is a Smash Golf Club, Smash GC kinda guy. These are their teams.”
Johnson replied: “What’s that all about? That’s not golf, what you talking about?”
Kaufman said: “Just filing in people that may want to know.”
The comments did not sit well with LIV Golf fans.
“Another day, another tool pretending they don’t know LIV Golf,” wrote one fan on X / Twitter.
One LIV Golf fan account commented: “Nothing like trying to alienate a chunk of the fans watching. Who is furthering the divide in golf?”
How do these ppl still have jobs, no wonder the average viewership on tour the last few years is 60+,” wrote another irate fan.
