At one point, Jaden Rashada was on the verge of becoming the Florida Gators, signing as a member of the 2023 signing class. Now he’s competing against Billy Napier and others associated with the move from Florida
According to multiple reports, Rashada is filing a lawsuit against Florida developer Hugh Hathcock and former Florida NIL director Marcus Castro-Walker in the Pensacola Division of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida. The fourth paid the same amount of $13.85 million.
“Coach Hathcock (for himself and Velocity Automotive), Castro-Walker and Ahuriri organized and committed the fraud against Jaden and clearly aided and abetted each other in carrying out the fraud,” the lawsuit says. “Each individual project cannot succeed without the support of others.
According to John Talty of 247Sports, Rashada informed Georgia coach Kirby Smart of his desire to file a lawsuit, and Smart agreed.
Rashada transferred to Georgia after spending 2023 at Arizona State. Rashada got there after falling to a NIL deal with the Gators. He started three games at Arizona State before transferring to Georgia in the April transfer window.
Georgia and Florida are scheduled to meet on November 2nd of this year.
