FSU football had a successful Saturday night as the Seminoles defeated the Duke Blue Devils 38-20 in a sold-out Doak Campbell Stadium.
To make matters worse, several highly touted prospects were on hand to witness what happened on Saturday night.
A celebrity guest was five-star running back Armondo Blount from Miami High School in Miami, Florida. The talented point guard has been in Miami since Sept. 14, but recently received a crystal ball for the Seminoles from Noles247 contributor Zach Blostein. Overall, Blount seemed to enjoy what he saw from FSU on Saturday night, as he announced on Sunday afternoon that his commitment will be switched from the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes to the Florida State Seminoles. Blount recently reclassified from the 2025 recruiting cycle to the 2024 recruiting cycle. As a result, he can enroll with the Seminoles in January 2024.
The coaching staff needs to flex their muscles with this recruiting win. They were able to go into the Hurricanes’ backyard and get a highly touted reliever. Especially after Miami beat Clemson at home in overtime on Saturday night. I understand that fans may still be understandably disappointed that class of 2024 five-star defensive lineman LJ McCray chose the Florida Gators over Florida State. However, this acquisition of Blount for the Seminoles should not go unnoticed.
FSU now has three defensive linemen in the 2024 recruiting class: four-star defensive end DD Holmes, three-star defensive tackle Takla Jamorie Flagg and now five-star defensive end Armondo Blount.
I imagine the Seminoles can add at least one defensive lineman to their recruiting class. I looked at four-star defensive end ArtaviusJones (Miami commit), four-star defensive tackle Nasir Johnson (Florida court) and three-star defensive tackle D’Nas White.
