Scottie Scheffler won the Travelers Open, becoming the first player since Tiger Woods to win six events in a PGA Tour season.
Scottie Scheffler returned to winning ways for his sixth PGA Tour win in 10 starts after defeating Tom Kim in a dramatic finish at the Travelers Championship.
The world number one, going into the final round at TPC River Highlands, carded a bogey-free 65 with five birdies to finish at 22 under with sudden leader and playing partner Tom Kim.
Kim made a 10-foot birdie on the final hole to force a playoff when play was briefly halted when several protesters ran onto the 18th green and placed colored powder on the putt before being removed by police. .

The green was cleared before a final where Kim couldn’t get up or down the sand and Scheffler made par to become the first player since Arnold Palmer in 1962 to which he won six times on the PGA Tour by July.
The win follows wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players, The Masters, RBC Heritage and Memorial Tournament already this season, and his latest success extends his run atop both the world and FedExCup rankings..
