Deion Sanders tries to motivate players with wildlife video: We need Buffaloes, not cows
Deion Sanders worked to add a little motivation into Thursday’s meeting. The Hall of Famer showed a video to his players explaining the difference between cows and buffalo. At the end, he told his herd that, “We need some Buffaloes, we don’t need no cows.”
Sanders took it down a philosophical road and broke down the characteristics of the two forms of livestock. He said cows run from storms while buffalo run towards fury. It was at that point he turned the message towards the current state of the Buffs.
“I’m looking for 22 guys out of this whole entire room… offense, defense, as well as special teams, including coaches, to run into the storm. Run right in.”
The goal for the Colorado Buffaloes is to win out in the final month of the season. Sanders tries to get the team back to their winning ways after dropping the past two games. A blown lead against Stanford before a bye week and at the Rose Bowl against No. 23 UCLA last Saturday. Colorado let one slip away and kept the other closer than expected.
Another not-so-exciting late game for the Buffaloes on Saturday. No. 16 Oregon State comes to Boulder for a 10 p.m. ET matchup for Homecoming with coverage on ESPN.
