a special message from her other half Jonathan Owens, who traveled more than 6,000 miles to see her make Olympic history.
Biles has put Tokyo 2020 firmly behind her to live up to her superstar name in Paris this summer. Winning her second gold of the summer in the all-around artistic gymnastics, Biles became the first U.S. Olympic gymnast to win two all-around golds and broke a 120-year-old record by becoming the only U.S. gymnast with six Olympic gold medals.
was supported by her husband Owens, who was given time off from training camp by the Chicago Bears to make the trip to Paris to witness Biles make history.
Upon returning to camp on August 3, jetting back to the USA’s East coast, Owens posted a picture of Biles on the beam and wrote: “Greatness. I love you so much baby. You accomplish whatever you set your mind to, and do it with so much grace. 9 time Olympic medalist and counting!!!! So proud to be your husband.”
Biles could still add to her two-gold strong medal haul with the women’s vault final on August three, the uneven bars final on August 4 and the balance beam and floor exercise finals on August 5.
Just because we respect the Olympics,” he said. “That is a big deal. And he’s just supporting the one he loves the most. And I think that’s so cool that he gets to do that. We welcome that and it’s gonna be awesome. Go USA.”
Owens will now return to the Bears facility to continue training camp with the first preseason game just one week away.
