The Cleveland Browns are likely just playing out a string of 12 more games for the 2024 NFL season but that doesn’t mean there won’t be lots of moves, decisions and games to prepare for. Tuesday, in advance of Wednesday’s first practice of the week, the Browns made six roster moves:
Released from 53-Man Roster
TE Blake Whiteheart
DL Sam Kamara
OL Javion Cohen
Whiteheart scored a touchdown this year and leaves Cleveland with just two tight ends on their roster. Kamara had played in a few games this season and recorded three tackles while Cohen got snaps in one game but with Michael Dunn returning last week did not have a roster spot.
Released from Practice Squad
LB Michael Barrett
RB Royce Freeman
OL Ricky Lee
The Browns likely plan to sign those released from the 53-man roster into these practice squad spots later this week.
The newly available roster spots could open up spots for the numerous players who could return from injured reserve, NFI or the PUP list in the near future:
S Juan Thornhill
DT Maurice Hurst II
LB Tony Fields II
LB Mohamoud Diabate
RB Nick Chubb
RB Nyheim Hines
