The Browns are looking to fill three offensive line coaching positions in the middle of the NFL recruiting cycle.

Cleveland parted ways with running backs coach Stump Mitchell and running backs coach T.C. McCartney and offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt last week. After a week, they move on to the college level and try to fill one of those positions.

According to multiple reports, the Browns are interested in hiring former Alabama offensive coordinator Tommy Rees as the team’s coach. Rees led the offense under Nick Saban at Alabama last season. When Saban stepped down and hired former Washington coach Kalen Deboer to take over the Crimson Tide program, Rees didn’t stick around.

Prior to Alabama, Rees spent six years at his alma mater, Notre Dame, under Brian Kelly and current head coach Marcus Freman. When he first returned to South Bend, he started as quarterbacks coach but was promoted to offensive coordinator, a role he held from 2020 to 2022. He left last spring to join Saban surprising Freeman at the time..
