The Seminoles will have their freshman point guard for the second game.
Florida State Seminoles A busy and hectic December took a turn for the worse on Christmas Day when Florida State lost its first quarter the day before the Orange Bowl.
Redshirt junior Tate Rodemaker decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal and did not travel with the team to South Florida shortly before the game against Georgia. That would make it clear to freshman receiver Brock Glenn, who is the only scholarship receiver left on the roster now that Rodemaker and redshirt freshman AJ Duffy (transfer) are gone. Coach Mike Norvell confirmed that Glenn will play for the Seminoles in Game 2 after leading the team to a victory over Louisville in the ACC Championship Game.
Norvell had plenty of praise for Glenn after his win against the Cardinals in early December. He stepped in shortly after Rodemaker went down in the season-ending win at Gainesville. And “You know, it’s amazing. Trying to get in there, that’s the thing, he’s still a rookie, but he missed a good half of the year with injury. “It was great,” Norvell said after the tournament. And Heand was very sure.
He will remain independent. I have a lot of confidence in where his career is going. But he has his composure and can go for the kill. We put a lot on our quarterback, and he took it. Nobel continued. And “That’s never happened, and I don’t think it’s ever happened, for a true freshman starting his ACC championship game. It’s been almost 20 years since he took over as quarterback? Twice in the last 20 years he’s had to go and we did it In his first season in Tallahassee, Glenn was very talented and some of the criticism was thrown at him. What do Seminole fans know about the quarterback who will lead the offense in the final game of the season? – Chance: FSU will release Glenn despite having a QB role in the fold.
It wasn’t long ago that Florida State was on the verge of signing another quarterback in the 2023 class, with the program still holding three-star Chris Parson’s commitment for nearly a year. At the time, Parson was the quarterback and voice actor for the Seminoles, but the coaching staff remained open elsewhere. Glenn visited the field in March for an unofficial visit and immediately formed a relationship with quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz. Soon after, he topped Parson in the regional tournament, earning an invitation to the Elite 11 Tournament.
After that meeting, the Seminoles made their interest clear and offered Glenn a scholarship in May. Glenn arrived early in Tallahassee for an official visit, talking about his experience watching film with Tokarz and how he likes Florida State’s offense. Even though he went through process after process, the Seminoles did a good job of building relationships and making a good impression on Glenn. — Time change: Glenn traded to the Seminoles at the end of the recruiting cycle Despite pressure from Florida State, Glenn committed to Ohio State before his senior season in July.
While he remained committed to the Buckeyes, the Seminoles continued to connect with him and put together a 10-win campaign in 2022. With Jordan Travis becoming a breakout star, the team has one of the best offenses in the country.
Glennand had his eye on that job, and that reason and his relationship with the staff were too big to pass up as he transferred to Florida State just weeks before the early signing period. The four-star quarterback is ranked as the No. 1. 481 prospect overall, the No. 21 QB and the No. 9 prospect in the state of Tennessee in the 2024 class,
Glenn led Lausanne High School to an 8-2 record in his final senior season, completing 74 of 126 passes for 1,413 yards, 18 touchdowns and three interceptions. He rushed 45 times for 443 yards and seven more scores on the ground.
