The Bulldogs have plenty of depth on both sides of the ball, but some of the sophomores will get a chance to step up this fall.
GEORGIA BULLDOGS
Georgia players had a great performance at the Senior Bowl practice before Saturday’s game. It was another showcase for Georgia and its talent ahead of another productive NFL Draft for the program and its former stars. Jordan Hall – DL – 6and#039;4 – 320 lbs
Hall is built like an oak and Georgia needs to step up this fall. The defensive line had key contributors returning for their senior seasons, but were not challenged last year. Hall has the length to line up at tackle or end, and the running back is quick inside. Appeared in 10 games as a rookie and recorded 10 hits.
CJ Allen – ILB – 6’1 – 233 lbs
Georgia fans got a chance to see more of Allen after Jamon Dumas-Johson suffered a hamstring injury last year. The freshman started at Georgia, saw a top-10 matchup against Ole Miss and never relinquished that role. Dumas-Johnson is currently at Kentucky, and Allenand now has that role. Heand will also replace former Roquan Smith, Tae Crowder and Nakobe Dean. Those are big shoes to fill.
Joenel Aguero – S – 5 & #039;11 – 205 lbs
Like Allen and Hall, Aguero saw some playing time as a freshman, but mostly as a special teams player last year. With Javon Bullard and Tykee Smith leaving for the NFL and Caleb Downs choosing Ohio State for the Dawgs, the door is open for Aguero to see big touches against Malachi Starks.
Heand, a top-50 prospect coming out of high school, showed the instincts to make a statement and run well on the road in support of the running backs..
