Christian Horner’s ‘sex texts’ accuser was suspended by Red Bull ‘because she was dishonest’ – as embattled Red Bull F1 boss says wife Geri Halliwell has been ‘hugely supportive’ but admits scandal has been ‘very trying’ on his family
* Horner was cleared last week of ‘coercive behaviour’ towards his colleague
Christian Horner’s accuser was suspended from Red Bull on the basis that she was ‘dishonest’, it was claimed today – as the F1 boss said his wife Geri Halliwell had been ‘hugely supportive’ but admitted the scandal had been ‘very trying’ on his family.
The female member of staff accused the Red Bull team principal of ‘coercive behaviour’ – a claim he was cleared of in an internal inquiry conducted by the team’s parent company in Salzburg last Wednesday.
Mail Sport understands the decision to suspend her from her duties at the factory in Milton Keynes is a direct result of the findings of the investigation. The unnamed employee was still in work as late as this week.
According to the BBC, the reason given for her suspension was that she had allegedly been dishonest. It is believed she was accused of ‘inaccuracies in her evidence’.
Today, Horner, 51, faced reporters and admitted that the saga had taken its toll on his family, while fending off questions on the woman at the centre of it. \N.
