* F1 rookie says there’s more to come Aussie F1 rookie Oscar Piastri stunned the world at the Japanese GP over the weekend, but his mum Nicole stole the show again at Oscar’s expense with a cheeky sled.
Piastri secured his first F1 podium by finishing third at Suzuka on Sunday, becoming the first rookie driver to finish on the podium in six years. McLaren’s young gun was delighted with his performance and declared after the race that there was “more to come”.
It was a significant milestone for the 22-year-old, who revealed last week that he had signed a contract extension with McLaren until the end of 2026.
“It’s definitely been a pretty special week,” announced Piastri. Piastri achieved his first podium in Formula 1 and finished third in Sunday’s Suzuka GP.
