The 2024 NFL Draft is just around the corner. It won’t be long before players across the country enter the next phase of their careers waiting for their names to be called and for NFL teams to bolster their rosters and aspirations, just fine.
Florida State has a variety of picks in the 2024 NFL Draft that could take their game to the next level. With players like Keon Coleman, Trey Benson, Jared Verse and Jordan Travis expected to be available soon, defensive tackle Braden Fiske is starting to show up in NFL mock drafts.
Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus has Fiske and the Cleveland Browns landing in the third round and No. 86 overall in his latest projections.
and the Browns have Dalvin Tomlinson under center, but he’s almost 30 years old. Also, Shelby Harris only signed a one-year contract. This would suit Cleveland’s Day 2 interior defensive line pick.
Fiske is on the smaller side for an interior shooter at under 300 pounds (295 pounds), but his light weight gives him the top spot as a single-gap pass rusher. In five of his last seven games, he has hit 10%. The Browns’ roster has a rotating defensive lineup, but no pass rusher like Fiske.
Fiske transfers to FSU as one of the nation’s top players in the class of 2022 from Western Michigan. In his one season as a Nole, he had 43 tackles and six sacks and was always a leader in the Florida State locker room. He suffered a career-ending injury at Seminole and missed the Orange Bowl, but played in the ACC championship game win over Louisville.
Appeared in 45 games and 30 starts over five seasons at Western Michigan, recording 148 tackles, including 13.5 sacks, 27.5 tackles for loss and three pass breakups, two sacks, two stops and a blocked kick..
