The draw takes place at the end of November and the only question of dates is really around the Origin period. The decline of Origin games has been much debated, and perhaps still is, but in the date list below we have marked the Origin games as they were played this year.
It should be noted that the season starts on the same weekend as this year, although the 1st round will likely be split. This means that the USA Games will take place on the weekend of March 2nd and 3rd. That’s because teams returning from Las Vegas have been given extra recovery time, with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Brisbane Broncos, Sydney Roosters and Manly Sea Eagles starting their season a week ahead of the other competitions.
