If players were hoping for a gentle start to the new PGA Tour season, they were handed a pleasant surprise at The Sentry, with the Plantation Course proving to be the gift that kept on giving over the course of the week.
Hideki Matsuyama posted the lowest 72 hole score in PGA Tour history in Maui, as he reached 35 under par, finishing three shots clear of Collin Morikawa. Elsewhere, 20 under par was only good enough for a tie for 24th, while no player who finished the tournament found themselves on a worse score than three under par.

Justin Thomas suggests whether he actually enjoyed playing in The Sentry
One of those who was not able to capitalise on the kinder conditions was Justin Thomas. The 31-year-old finished in a tie for 26th on 19 under par, with his highlight coming on Sunday.
Thomas posted the low round of the day, as he shot a 63 to move himself 15 spots up the leaderboard.
The two-time major winner has since taken to Instagram to reflect on the week. And he responded when a fan asked whether he enjoys the kind of tournaments where 35 under par
