The Buffaloes’ QB has the final say in the silly story THE COLORADO BUFFALO Colorado’s pass defense isn’t among the best this season. But it did not come from strengthening the statistics of Shedeur Sanders.
The Buffs QB has been part of the biggest story in college football and continues to impress week after week. Not everyone is a fan of what happened in Boulder, especially an anonymous Pac-12 assistant coach. In a recent article in The Athletic, an unnamed source suggested that the reason Sanders’ completion rate was so high was due to statistical padding and intentional sacks.
“I think they want to put out some stats on Shedeur,” the Pac-12 coach said. “He holds the ball for a really long time. I think he takes sacks because he doesn’t want to affect the result. He plays a little differently than he was at the beginning of the season. Before he showed that he is ready to step up. and run through the B gaps. Now he’s pulling back more.”
Sanders will not let this mess continue without speaking his mind. He responded, via Well Off Media, saying: “Any coach who said that is bullshit. He’s stupid.” He continued: “Justice was for God, he desires me rather than his companion.” Sanders has 1,781 yards on the season with 15 TD and 2 INT, second best in the FBS. The anonymous coach’s argument completely misses why Shedeur has the best shooting percentage and the most attempts in the Power Five. In fact, he is the only notable QB to enter Week 6 with more than 200 carries.
Colorado continues its Pac-12 journey on Saturday night in Tempe with the Arizona State Sun Devils. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET, which includes the Pac-12 Network.
