Fox’s Joel Klatt, one of college football’s leading voices, reports and his preseason notes . It gave the Ohio State Buckeyes a slight edge over Georgia for the top spot.
2024 is going to be an epic season for college football. Texas and Oklahoma will be the top seeds in the SEC, while Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA will all be ranked in the Big Ten. Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt revealed his 25th game last season. Saturday’s Noon Big headliners (Big Ten games of the week) include the Ohio State Buckeyes ahead of Georgia.

To
me, Ohio State is No. 1 and Georgia is No. 2,” Klatt began. “I couldn’t help but think that Ohio State’s roster is the best in the sport. What they’ve done this season has been unprecedented in many ways: keeping the talent they have on their roster and recruiting talent, but also through portals.
To be fair, the Buckeyes have a big time in the lobby, recruiting Ole Miss after Quinshon Judkins, Julian Sayin, Alabama and Caleb Downs the Buckeyes at the top of their list, but their schedule. Georgia can be brutal and disturbing.
“Let’s start early with Georgia in second place,” Klatt said. “Carson Beck, I think he’s going to be the favorite for the Heisman and Quinn Ewers. There’s no doubt there’s talent at UGA.

Their five recruiting classes are top four, and some of them First, 7 is fine. It’s always great. Mykel Williams is the hottest player on the screen and will likely be the first overall pick next year. Malachi Starks joins Will Johnson, perhaps one of the best linebackers in the country, at safety. They are 46 and 2 in their last 48 games. This makes no sense. He and Michigan have dominated the sport in recent years. But they have a tough schedule.

Georgia
is not good because they have to open with Clemson, which is in my top 15. That place is Atlanta. Road games against Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss, and home games against Tennessee. Then they have to deal with Texas, Alabama and Ole Miss. So the other top two teams in the SEC, the other top three teams in the SEC, all the top 10 teams, have to go to Bama, Texas, and Ole Miss. It is not easy. And Georgia isagainst it.

Many children changed schools. So I’m looking at the list, okay. Their quarterback is back, and the way they worked, I know. And we know that Kirby Smart has two rings on his mantle. And they will no doubt get there eventually. There is no doubt in my mind. But Ohio State’s deadline and schedule shows me as thenumber one spot..
