5-star wide receiver, FSU football target Exits from Alabama Football
Prospect is back on the market and the Seminoles are desperate.
FLORIDA STATE SEMINOLES
The retirement of legendary Alabama coach Nick Sabanand affects the program in several ways. With Kalen DeBoer taking over for Tuscaloosa, more players are entering the transfer window and players are leaving the Crimson Tide.
Five-star Jaime Ffrench announced his decommitment from Alabama on Sunday afternoon. He committed to the Crimson Tide in July, just weeks before the start of his junior season. During that time, he chose this program over Florida State, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Penn State.
With Ffrench back on the market, it makes sense for the Seminoles to make another big push for one of the nation’s top prospects. Shortly after it was reported that coach Mike Norvell would remain in Tallahassee rather than take the Alabama head coaching job, he met with Ffrench and four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. at his high school in Jacksonville.
Ffrench and Jones Jr. they are friends at Mandarin High School, and developed a relationship on and off the field. Both attended Florida State’s elite camp over the summer. At that time, Jones Jr. he said: why he should continue to play for the Seminoles at the college level.
me”If you want to get the best coach, he really wants to see his connections here. I think this is the place for him. What he wants, his style of play, this is true. Jones Jr. previously spoke to NoleGameday.
The Florida native was in camp three times last season, including games against Florida State and Miami. Hopefully Ffrench will be back in town soon.
Ffrench is coming off a junior season in which he had 62 catches for 1,247 yards and 14 touchdowns. He had five games of 100+ yards and four receptions with two or more touchdowns. Jones Jr. completed 183 of 302 passes (60.6%) for 3,195 yards with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions and led his team to the national title. Both players improved their performance compared to the previous season.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound wide receiver is considered No.
Florida State hosts the No. 118 recruiting class in the 2025 cycle with commitments from Jones Jr., four-star Solomon Thomas and three-star Ethan Pritchard .
