Yuki Tsunoda apologized on social media after commenting on team radio that he was later recalled to Austria by the FIA.
He was fined €40,000 (half of which is a ban until the end of 2024) after making what the FIA called “offensive and completely inappropriate” over the team radio in qualifying.

He was cited by the FIA for misconduct and although they said in their decision , that he was “afraid” of the meaning of the word he used when English was his second language, they imposed a considerable fine.
He claimed that his understanding of the words was different, but agreed that it should not be taken as an excuse for what he did,” said the judges’ decision.
“The producers appreciate the honesty of the driver, but emphasize the fact that the words used are offensive and completely inappropriate.
