The European Darts Open is one of the longest running Euro Tour tournaments. It was first played in 2012 when it was won by Raymond van Barneveld. Michael van Gerwen is the record winner of this tournament with five titles. In 2023, the event was won by Gerwyn Price, who beat Dirk van Duijvenboden 8-7 in a thrilling final.
Television and Live Streaming
The European Darts Open will be broadcast on PDC TV. Similar to the Euro Tour tournaments, the European Darts Open consists of three tournament days. Afternoon classes start at 12:00pm and evening classes at 6:00pm UK time each day.
The first round will be played on Friday. After that, the qualifiers for the 16 medals and the winners from the various qualifiers will be determined. The top 16 will advance to the second round of the tournament on Saturday.On Sunday, the tournament ends with the third round in the afternoon. On Sunday evening, the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals will follow.
Distribution of prizes
A total of £175,000 in prize money will be distributed among the 48 participants in this Euro Tour tournament. They will receive seed money of at least £1,250. The top 16 players who qualify for the second round of the European Darts Open will still receive £2,500.
They – like the 16 Order Qualifiers starting in the first round – must win their first match for the prize money to count in the World Rankings and other rankings. The winner of the 2024 European Darts Open will finally walk home with the top prize of £30,000..
