The Formula 2 race in Barcelona got off to a dramatic start for Kimi Andrea Antonelli. The Italian was allowed to start the race in fifth place, but then he could not get his car off the line on the formation lap.
After an excellent qualification, Antonelli started the race from fifth place. He just couldn’t get his car out of position so everyone passed him before the formation lap.
Antonelli starts from pit lane
As a result, the Italian had to start the race from pit lane. It is a surprise to him that the safety car came right after the first lap. This gave the 17-year-old a chance to return to the field.
Lewis Hamilton’s supposed replacement is currently 20th in the championship. On Saturday, he finished 15th in the sprint. The Italian says he can feel the rain so it can still give him chances..
