Georgia football running backs coach Dell McGee has been named head coach of the Georgia State Panthers football program.

Dell McGee has been offered the position and is expected to take the head coaching job with the Panthers, which was recently openedafter Shawn Elliott decided to move to South Carolina to become the head coach.

Before arriving in Athens, he spent time at Auburn and Georgia Southern, breaking into the Georgia high school football landscape at various programs.

McGee was very successful as a coach and position recruiter in Athens. In addition to his role as running backs coach, McGee has quickly established himself as one of the best pass rushers in all of college football. He has helped the Bulldogs bring in several standout players over the years, many players outside of their respective position groups on both sides of the football..
