ESPN NFL Draft admired Matt Miller’s physical attributes. of former Florida State tight end Johnny Wilson at Tuesday’s physical. Wilson, a California native, is 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 237 pounds.

But Miller focused on the Seminole pass rusher’s arm length and wingspan, comparing him to a creature of the past.

   Wilson has become a key part of the State of Florida after transferring from Arizona State at the end of 2021. Wilson totaled 1,514 receiving yards, 84 receptions and seven touchdowns in two seasons with the Garnet and Gold.

His presence was recognized in the college football world in 2022 when he made three major plays against Louisville, including a 69-yard reception by Tate Rodmaker that put Florida State at the 10-yard line. He took the hit on the next play. FSU’s next drive resulted in another touchdown when Wilson picked off a fumble route in the corner of the end zone, ultimately the ‘Noles’ game-winner.

   Wilson gained a lot of yards after contact. Because it’s hard for smaller players to get him and his frame down the floor.

   Although he’s battled through some setbacks throughout his career in Tallahassee, Wilson’s complexity and jump-ball ability could appeal to NFL GMs on draft day.
